Hailing from Portsmouth VA - the home of Missy Elliott - Nina (born Nina Lynette Faulks) was another artist lifted from a stack of CDs originally intended for 108 Jamz DJ M$ Blendz' to spin on her show back in the early 2000s. Incorprating a sample from Barry White's song "It's Ecstasy (When You Lay Down Next To Me)", it was one of two singles that Faulks released in the early 2000s, including "Alibi" from 2002 (which has since been re-recorded and released digitally in 2020.) The same label also released another one of my Lost & Found R&B finds "Butta" by the Old Heads (listen here.) They were from Virginia Beach. It turns out that the world really is that small after all.
